Levis Mounds, Hatfield, WI. The first time I laid eyes on this cliff I had been mountain biking with a friend in the trails here. We got off our bikes to sit atop the cliff and marvel at the vastness below. We could see for miles. The wind took my hair and gently nursed it against my cheeks and I felt the chilly excitement of freedom standing here. From then on, whenever I came to Levis to mountain bike, run or photograph, I felt the need to get up to this cliff and stand for awhile. Once I laid down beneath the beloved tree here and fell asleep. I meditate here and I can still be drawn back just by the mere thought of this place. It's a spiritual place for me, a place that my soul feels uniquely drawn to. I feel that upon my visits here that I always come away knowing more than I did when I arrived.
