Over looking Avalanche Lake from 1/3 way up a mountain waterfall in Glacier National Park. This image holds fond memories for me. My friend Kimberli and I hiked around Avalanche Lake and met up with Rob and his son on the other side. All of being the adventurous types we hiked back country and scrambled up the rocky side of this waterfall. We were unable to climb past a certain point but we sat up high and ate lunch. As we came down, which was far more trecherous than going up, I made this image. Right here I set my gear down at the side, stood on a rock and soaked my head and drank the water. This is the spot.
A gorgeous scenic from the Hidden Lake Trail in Glacier National Park, Montana.
Drama in the Sky! The most amazing evening presented itself for photography art after a full day of driving from Minneapolis to the Badlands. A full day of scattered rainstorms brought a head on storm as we reached this National Park but the clouds broke and the light was perfect for the hour or so right before the light was no more. This place is amazing!
Mr. Moose in the Grand Tetons. My friend Kimberli and I were on a 14 mile hike when she spotted a moose sleeping by a pond to our left. We watched him for an hour or so as he nodded off and then awoke briefly. He suddenly stood and we watched him move about towards the water for a drink before he dissappeared from our view into the thick woods. On our way back down the steep hike we encountered a few bull moose but this one gave us the most for photographic opportunities. Yes, I was that close.

The dramatic light that gave way to beautiful scenic images also gave me the best colors within the topography of the land. The pinks and reds and yellows are hues that made me hungry for more!
