The American White Pelican migrates through the Mississippi flyway each Spring. They are amazing to watch as they often fly in beautiful formation, such as you see here. I was fortunate to make this image as it worked out, wing positions just right, eye positions just right, and even the shadow of the second pelican's wing on the first bird. The American White Pelican has a breeding bump on his bill and beautiful plumage during the breeding season. You will not see this bump in a non-breeding bird or non - breeding season. I am often amazed at the sounds of birds. I love to listen but I don't often associate what I hear with what I would think the bird would sound like.
