This little guy had just hatched along with his brothers and sisters - just about an hour earlier. Kildeer are one of my favorite birds, they are active, full of personality, humorous, and as soon as I start to see them I am assured that Spring is here (or will be shortly). The eggs of the kildeer blend very well into the gravel where they nest (on the ground). The chicks are quick and remind me of popcorn as it's popping!
