This fawn was one of twins and stood before the other. In this very moment of the photo she first focused - on me. Imprinting me, she made cooing sounds and headed towards me, stumbling over a branch close to where I was kneeling. I could no longer photograph as the tears from emotional bliss filled me and made it impossible to focus. I never touched her but she followed me and I led her back to her sibling who was still laying down ... I left. The memory of this encounter is always with me.
