I hiked into Copper Falls State Park on April 12, 2008 with snow shoes. A foot and a half of snow that came in to the area between Friday and ended just before I arrived made trekking tough but FUN! I am thankful as a Nature Photographer that I am also an athlete. Having been a runner since I was 15 it certainly makes trekking with gear enjoyable! This day I stumbled into snow that was waist deep, depending upon the drifts. The park does a circle around the waterfalls. This scenic was made from one of the overlooks. The photos from days like this are especially satisfying as the experience embraces and combines athleticism, the sounds of only nature & my own breath & snow shoes, hours of SEEING & making compositions, and the quietness of my mind (just simply being present).
