"There is no remedy for love but to love more." Henry David Thoreau
This little "Rascal" was one of three baby raccoons that made my aquaintance two days ago in the Kishwauketoe Conservancy, Williams Bay, WI. I had been photographing herons at a rookery early in the day and decided to go back out to catch the light as it played through the trees and danced on the wild phlox. I caught just a brief encounter with a curious little raccoon shown here - he graced me with one fabulous image part way up a tree, looking at me, with wild phlox around and behind him. Lucky me!

My thoughts in the Field:

Job? What do you mean? ... OHHHH - this is a J O B? ... Nope, I will tell you what it is. It is a choice, a lifestyle, and definately a passion - life purpose, bring it ON! Need I say more? .. Well, I was asked and its interesting, especially when it's a Kindergartner. Its a great question and one that most might be able to easily answer, yet I was STUMPED. "How many hours do you spend at your job in a day?" I was asked on May 31, as I presented my work to 7 groups of wonderful kids at the Fontana Middle School... HMMM... What IS a job??? Oh,... well I used to be a flight attendant (8 years - hmm, THAT was a job) and then I went back to school and finished my degree in .. - Nope, not photography, .. psychology. Well, and while I p e r s u e d that I was a personal fitness trainer. Ah, and there I learned how to run my OWN business because Bally's fired me because I didn't wear their Uniform (even though I was their second highest sales person as a part time trainer --- OOPS, but now I could train people at half the cost and yet make more ... self employment started to LOOK REALLY good!).. - So back to the question - "How many HOURS do you spend a day at your JOB?" - Oh geez, dozens? or is it really 24? I mean, I eat, sleep and drink my passion. When I am photographing, I make pictures, when I edit pictures, its like Christmas to me, when I am driving, I see light and compose images in everything... I breathe my job - or does it breathe me? ... Ah - yes, ... that must be it. To be married to all that I am - my work, my health, my partner, my friends, - the very composition of life itself. ... Work is play and play is fun - therefore turning work into play! .. Guess what folks?! ... It is all choice, ... its all about perspective.
